Buffalo, NY - Timothy Noble is a Buffalo-based artist who lived in Bogotá, Colombia from 2013 to 2017. His work is preoccupied with themes of labor, power and the social effects of automation, Noble's work spans a range of media from tool-making and process-oriented sculpture to scenography. The sculptural works on display were commissioned and built in Bogotá for themed exhibitions in 2014 and 2016. His current installation-based work with the internationally acclaimed experimental live arts group Mapa Teatro is on view at the Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid, Spain through the end of April.
Launched in March 2016, “The Front” is a public exhibition space that presents a new and unique public art experience in the window of the gallery at 1120 Main Street. The space measures 4’ x 40’ and invites a variety of uses, from paintings, drawings, video, and temporary performance to imaginative site-specific installations. Programming for The Front will showcase independent installations, as well as complement current gallery exhibits.
